Once the SV9100 is upgraded to 12.10.50, the Manufacturer [MF] level account becomes disabled.
However, a problem arises with the ability to log into the PBX from a telephone set if the Manufacturer [MF] and Installer [IN] level accounts had the same password assigned to them prior to upgrading.
The problem with logging in stems from the fact that the PBX only authenticates the password of the account when logging in from a telephone vs. authentication using a username/password when logging in via WebPro or PCPro.
When a password is entered from the telephone set, it checks it against the highest to lowest level account in the PBX. If the passwords for [MF] and [IN] are the same, the check will stop at the [MF] account ang be denied due to the account being disabled.
Procedure for Corrective Action:
To prevent the above scenario, the technician should change the [MF] account password to something other than the [IN] account password.
To correct the above scenario and wanting or needing to keep the current [IN] account password, you must downgrade the system to 12.0.50 or lower, change the [MF] account password to something other than the [IN] account password, and then upgrade the system back to 12.10.50.
To correct the above scenario without wanting or needing to keep the current [IN] account password, you can simply log into WebPro or PCPro with the [IN] account and change the [IN] account password.
